St. John

Why visit St. John?

St. John is one of the least commercialized islands in the Caribbean and it is easy to to get to from the eastern United states. St. John also boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world according to major travel magazines and has amazing, easily accessible snorkeling. St. John is 2/3 National Forest and so it will never become overly developed, nor does it get crowded. There is minimal crime and there are no cities on the island - making it a safe, quiet vacation destination.


How do I get to St. John?

During the peak winter season, most major Northeast cities have non-stop flights to St. Thomas (STT) The island is approximately 3 1/2 hours from Boston or NY. During off-peak season flights connect on NY, Puerto Rico and Miami. Major airlines servicing St. Thomas include American Airlines, Delta, US Air.

Once you arrive in St. Thomas you'll take a 1/2 hour ferry ride to St. John.

Our on-isand management company will pick you up at the rental dock and give you a ride to your rental car.


Where is St. John?

St. John is located in the Caribbean and it is one of the 3 US Virgin Islands. The other two island that make up the USVI are St. Thomas and St. Croix. Here is link to the official USVI tourist website.


Do I need a passport?

A passport is not currently required for US citizens, however if you have one it is recommended that you bring it for your identification. Otherwise you will need a birth certificate and other official photo ID. Please be sure to check with the airlines prior to your departure just in case regulations change a the last minute. What should I pack?

Comfortable, casual clothes and a bathing suit. The island is very casual. Light fabrics are the most comfortable in this tropical climate. The sun is really strong so a hat and sunscreen are key. If you plan to go hiking, sneakers are fine, but if you have hiking boots that are comfortable you can bring them. And all linens and beach towels are provided for you.


How will I get around the island?

Rental cars are highly recommended. You may also call for taxis from the house. If you come on an all-inclusive vacation, you will not need to rent a car.


What activities are available?

KayakingSit by one of the world-class beaches, or at the Villa pool, snorkel, hike, scuba dive, kayak, golf (on St. Thomas), shop in Cruz Bay, island-hop to the British Virgin Islands (passport required) and any other watersport you can think of!


What kind of food is available?

All kinds of restaurants are located on the island, in Cruz Bay (10 minute drive) with the specialty being seafood. The Villa also has a fully equipped modern kitchen if you prefer to go to cook for yourself - there are several grocery stores on the island and many gourmet foods are available.


What is the bedroom layout?

The villa comfortably sleeps 10 adults:
